Make it with:

Ingredients
4 thick slices of brioche or white farmhouse loaf
2 large eggs
125ml whole milk
60g All Things Butter Cinnamon Bun Butter (plus extra for drizzling if desired)
1 large apple
2 tbsp brown sugar
Maple syrup (optional)
Method
Step 1
Crack the eggs into a shallow dish, add the milk and 1 tbsp brown sugar. Whisk until fully combined and smooth.
Step 2
Place the slices of bread into the egg mixture, turning them over to coat evenly. Let them soak for about a minute so they absorb some of the liquid without becoming too soggy.
Step 3
Place a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of cinnamon bun butter. Once melted, lift the soaked bread from the mixture, letting any excess drip off, and place it into the pan.
Step 4
Fry gently for about three minutes on each side until golden brown and caramelised, adding more cinnamon bun butter if needed. Once done, remove from the pan and keep warm.
Step 5
Peel, core, and slice the apple into thin wedges. Add another spoonful of cinnamon bun butter and the rest of the brown sugar to the same pan. Once melted, add the apple slices and cook for around five minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and slightly caramelised.
Step 6
Plate the French toast and spoon the warm, buttery apples over the top. Drizzle with a little extra melted cinnamon bun butter or maple syrup if desired. Serve immediately.
